This is a pleasantly spanned tour of discovery and indulgence which offers many breathtaking and unforgettable visions and impressions of the romantic isle in the Indian Ocean that is Sri Lanka, a terrain of lush greenery in all its tones and shades. This place, the cradle of an ancient civilization is endowed with many historical relics, temples carved into the rock, fervent monasteries and a bit of nostalgic 'colonial’ atmosphere best preserved in the hill resorts like Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.

Day 01

 Arrival at Colombo Airport and transfer to the Hotel :  in Negombo, just 30 minutes away from the airport. During your overnight stay you can relax.

Day 02

Kotugoda or Negombo / Pinnawela / Thirappane or Habarana  


After breakfast leave for Thirappanea, Anuradhapura / Habarana, En route, enjoy feeding time, (0930hours) at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, (approximate 2 hour drive from your over night hotel) the home of orphaned elephants. The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. Success story of Pinnawela has drawn the attention of scientists from all over the world. The members of the Pinnawela herd have been filmed, videoed and photographed thousands of times by professionals.

Arrive at Thirappanea/ Habarana, (approximate 3 hour drive from Pinnawala) check into the hotel, and the rest of the day at leisure, leaving you to pamper yourself at the spa or to enjoy the activities offered by the hotel.4 nights at the hotel.

Day 03

Thirappane or Habarana / Polonnaruwa / Thirappane or Habarana  


In the morning leave on an excursion to Polonnaruwa, (approximate 1.5 hours drive). The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 A.D. to reunite the country once more under a native leader. Today the ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned Archaeological relic sites in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom's first rulers. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Afternoon enjoy the day at hotel.

Day 04

Thirappane or Habarana / Minneriya / Thirappane or Habarana


In the morning relax at the hotel and  get ready for a game drive at Minneriya National Park. Afternoon leave on a safari to Minneriya, (1.15hours approximate drive) located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa is the 8890 hectares of Minneriya National Park which is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka's favorites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. However the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants who come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds (cormorants and painted storks to name but a few) that come to fish in the shallow waters.

Day 05

Thirappane or Habarana / Sigiriya / Thirappane or Habarana   


After breakfast: visit, (approximately 1.5hours) the world-famous rock fortress Sigiriya. The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory.

Pamper yourself at the spa or just relax by the pool.

Day 06

Thirappane or Habarana / Dambulla / Matale / Kandy 


After breakfast, leave for Kandy, en route visit Dambulla Cave Temple, ( approximately one hour from your over night hotel) a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.

Next, visit a spice garden, (approximate 1 hour drive) at Matale to see different spices and aromatics for which Sri Lanka has been famous for centuries. Arrive at Kandy and check in at the charming hotel.

Day 07



In the morning, Kandy's Royal Botanical Gardens, undertake a city tour in Kandy. Kandy perhaps is Sri Lanka’s most beautiful town. Set 488 meters above sea level, Kandy is Sri Lanka’s most visited place after Colombo. The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed ‘Dalada Maligawa’, where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined.

Late evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic which is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. The entire complex is part of another UNESCO world heritage site. On completion of the temple visit witness a cultural dance show.

Day 08

Kandy / Nuwara Eliya 


After breakfast leisurely take a senic drive to Nuwara Eliya, (2 to 2.5 hour drive), with stops for photo opportunity on clients requests. Visit a tea plantation en route, enjoy a tour of the hill resort of Nuwara Eliya. Thereafter, continue your sightseeing tour of the town called “Little England” Nuwara Eliya which is set in the heart of tea-country. Nuwara Eliya is a charming town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican Church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh – a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. On completion continue to Hatton and check-in to beautiful hotel.

Evening a walk in the surrounded area is highly recommended.

Day 10

Nuwara Eliya / Yala 


After breakfast leave the high hills of Sri Lanka and descend towards the southern plains of the island which is a treasure trough for wild life enthusiasts, (approximately 4 to .5 hour drive). Passing breathtaking scenery travel across the country until you reach the precincts of the most popular National Park of Sri Lanka Yala.

Day 11

At the creak of dawn OR in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive at the Yala National Park. 


Yala – Sri Lanka’s most known National Park is popular for Elephant, Leopard, Bear, Crocodile and Wild Boar. 97,800 hectares in extent, this is the second largest of Sri Lanka’s National Parks. Its open undulating terrain made it famous for elephants for many years, but recently the park has also received much fame through publicity by National Geographic and the Discovery TV channels, which focused on a leopard research/conservation and identification project. Claims have subsequently been made that Yala National Park has the world’s highest concentration of leopard per square kilometre. Vegetation is primarily grassland and shrub jungle with patches of dense growth while several salt and fresh water lagoons are a haven for a large variety of resident and migrant birds. Areas popular with leopard are rock strewn hillocks with dense shrub in which the animals hide.

After the Game drive, return back to the hotel & spend the rest of the day at your own leisure

Day 12

Yala / Colombo                                                                                                                                   

After breakfast proceed to Colombo to check into the hotel.

Day 13

Colombo/ Airport

Transfer to the airport, the driver will report to the hotel 4 hours prior to check in time of flights for departure.
